Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for an experienced professional to join our global diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) team. Reporting to the global diversity, equity and inclusion officer, the Director – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Programs (EME, AFR & AP) will serve as a leader for DEI by working to integrate our DEI strategy into a program design to serve communities globally with a particular focus on our area offices in Eastern Europe/Middle East (EME), Africa (AFR) and Asia/Pacific (AP). The DEI Programs Director will also monitor external social trends, explore innovative strategies, conduct benchmark studies and drive actions that support Habitat for Humanity’s DEI strategy and goals.

This leader works globally, collaborating with leaders in the EME, AFR and AP area offices and across the organization to build and execute programs, processes and initiatives, integrating DEI as an important element of our culture, mission, and operations. This leader will implement and deliver organization-wide DEI efforts and help shape an inclusive culture where everyone can grow and thrive. We are looking for a candidate with a breadth of experience and deep understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion strategies and social justice change initiatives, especially in the regions covered by the EME, AFR and AP area offices.

The ideal candidate will excel in achieving results and consensus through consulting and influencing our leadership and staff. This position collaborates with regional and functional leaders and managers and other key stakeholders to advance our diversity and equity initiatives, and overall inclusion strategy.

The position may be located in any of the countries where HFHI is legally able to hire in Asia/Pacific, Africa, Europe/Middle East and can be remote with travel up to 50%.

Key Responsibilities:

*Develop and project manage Habitat’s DEI strategy and work plan and align with regional frameworks and teams in the EME, AFR and AP area offices, which includes building realistic and aspirational internal and external goals and metrics (e.g. – for increasing representation, measuring and monitoring progress with Habitat leaders, adopting and creating the international theory of change and program framework and contributing to global advocacy initiatives).
*Partner with global DEI officer, DEI Program Director – Americas, DEI team and cross-functional teams in HFHI area offices and HFH affiliated network to design a program strategy with realization metrics that focuses on priorities in our area offices to drive greatest impact in communities we partner with around the world.
*Partner with area offices, internal departments (Housing and Community Strategies, Volunteer Institutional Engagement, area offices, etc.) and external DEI organizations in the development of strategic and tactical programming objectives and relevant value metrics to advance DEI and social justice within Habitat and the communities that we partner with around the globe.
*Work with DEI communications, learning organization and development director, DEI Program Director – Americas and global DEI officer to create and assess initiatives, integrating HFHI values to execute and influence programs that help us to partner with HFH teams and departments to put our DEI strategy into action around the world.
*Use technical, practical expertise and experience, build relationships with leadership and programs team to promote, build capacity, enhance ownership and commitment to DEI initiatives to define and support the collective leadership and delivery of DEI transformation across HFHI.
*Serve as a point of contact on related industry benchmark data, surveys, RFPs/RFIs, and various DEI data reporting or related inquiries.

Requirements:

*Bachelor’s degree.
*10+ years of DEI and/or related social justice in a senior level capacity.
*Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels and in diverse geographies.
*Demonstrated experience in community development/engagement work in the EME, AFR and/or AP regions and effectively connecting those diverse contexts to strategies that integrate DEI to build and execute programs, processes and initiatives as an important element of creating culture, driving mission, and implementing programs.
*Ability to bring the right balance of confidence, authentic voice with tact and persistence to establish credibility and trust with talent at all levels and backgrounds across the firm.
*Strong collaboration and team orientation.
*Ability to conduct a DEI root-cause analysis, identify and solve problems, work independently, and take initiative
*Excellent attention to detail. Ability to compile, review and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on data and information which is varied in content and format.
*Experience sharing and developing best practices and resources.
*A strong understanding of data and the ability to run relevant analyses as needed. Comfort with leveraging data to guide and drive decision making.
*High emotional intelligence and the ability to be empathetic to the needs of a wide range of employees while maintaining confidentiality and managing risk.
*Demonstrated experience working through roadblocks to leverage creative solutions; have a record of success in exerting influence to drive results.
*Prior experience presenting information to multiple levels and leadership within an organization.
*Prioritizes, organizes, and multitasks for efficient and effective work production.
*Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in English.
*Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) required.

Preferred:

*Prior experience working within a federated organization or non-profit organization.
*Highly preferred oral and written multilingual fluency.
