Element Materials Technology

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a temporary Goods In Technician to join our diverse team in Wednesbury. This is a great opportunity for an individual who would like to work for a global company involved in Testing, Inspection and Certification of products.

Responsibilities

  • Loading / Unloading of samples using a Forklift Truck (FLT)
  • Moving samples around the site
  • Cutting of testing samples using basic workshop equipment
  • Preparing jigs and fixtures to support automotive components
  • Maintaining accurate and systematic records in accordance with documented procedures
  • Adhering to regulations and laboratory policies regarding health, safety and quality.
  • Maintaining clean and hygienic working environment
  • Ensuring Health & Safety is enforced in working areas
  • Ensuring Quality System is enforced in working areas, including maintenance of equipment

Skills / Qualifications

  • Ideally a Forklift truck license although training will be provided
  • Experience of operating simple workshop machinery is preferred but not essential
  • Experience of working within a test environment is preferred but not essential
  • Good general education
  • Good practical and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure, prioritise and coordinate
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exposure to warehousing or logistics
  • Hours of work 7.30am to 4pm Mon to Thurs, with a 1pm finish on Fridays
