**Job Overview:**Our Employment team is seeking a Job Developer to support newly arrived refugee clients as they attain self-sufficiency through employment. The Job Developer will identify and match qualified clients to employment opportunities, identify and cultivate new employer relationships, maintain ongoing partnerships with employers, guide staff through the hiring processes of various companies, engage with local employers, and provide ongoing retention services and support to both client and employer. This position will also collaborate across all workforce development direct service staff and maintain internal tracking systems. The Job Developer will serve as the main point of contact for critical employer relationships and create pipelines and relationships to place over 250+ clients per year into employment. This position reports to the Economic Empowerment Program Manager.
Major Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employers for job placements for the workforce development team;
- Conduct employer outreach to identify job opportunities and develop, cultivate, and maintain positive relationships with area employers;
- Educate employers on the merits of refugee employment and relevant right to work documentation;
- Act as a liaison between the IRC, employers, clients, and community partners;
- Communicate and collaborate across 7 programs and with approximately 10 staff regarding employment opportunities, client referrals, and onboarding processes;
- Provide job counseling and support to clients, which may include intake, assessment, orientation, and pre-employment/job readiness classes;
- Research and attend relevant job development opportunities such as job fairs, community event, job site tours, etc.;
- Plan and implement workshops, meetings, and development activities to ensure employment opportunities are appropriate, relevant, and attainable;
- Determine specific, appropriate employment opportunities and assist clients in accessing these opportunities by guiding them through the hiring process;
- Monitor & report on job performance, wage level, retention, health benefits offered, and employer/employee satisfaction across all placements using IRC databases;
- Assist clients and employers with any post placement issues and continuing employment needs;
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual job placement goals;
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance on all reporting requirements, including database management, case noting, and file maintenance;
- Report on new hiring opportunities in weekly team meetings;
- Supervise and assist program interns and volunteers;
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- 4 year degree in business, marketing, social work or related field strongly preferred;
- Relevant professional experience required; 2+ years of related professional experience in a non-profit or social services environment strongly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a personal, insured vehicle, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
- Strong professional communication skills and an ability to network;
- Fluency in written and spoken English required; fluency in Dari/Farsi, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Pashto, Burmese, Chin, and/or Spanish preferred.
- Previous multi-cultural experience and proven ability to communicate well with people of varied backgrounds.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Working Environment:**
- Standard work environment with ability to occasionally work remotely on IRC devices required;
- Frequent travel within the Dallas area.
