Position Title: National ICT Officer (Quality Assurance)

Job classification: National Officer/NO-B

Duty station: Manila (Global) Administrative Centre (MAC)

Type of Appointment: One-year fixed-term, with possibility of extension

Salary: Php 1,577,572.00 per annum net of taxes

Context

The position is based in Manila Administrative Centre (MAC), headed by the Director of MAC. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is one of the divisions with its operations delocalized to MAC.

Under the overall supervision of the Senior ICT Officer (BRM Mobile Solutions) and direct supervision of the ICT Officer (Business Processes), the National ICT Officer (Quality Assurance) will be responsible for the planning, executing and reporting of testing activities of the portfolio of corporate applications across the multiple test phases in the software development lifecycle and their support post deployment.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the Quality Assurance team for internally developed applications.
  • Oversee testing for all projects and assign testing tasks within the team.
  • Participate in the development of the quality assurance strategies, define the testing processes, methodologies and procedures, in particular automated testing.
  • Develop the framework for automated testing for respective projects and new releases.
  • Manage relationships between testing team and project Team Leaders to ensure clearly defined scope and expectations to deliver quality products.
  • Evaluate, maintain and improve Testing roles and responsibilities within the product development life cycle.
  • Provide technical guidance to business owners and analysts in preparing UAT scripts & defect management.
  • Guide the development of the Test Scope & Master Test Plans in coordination with the Project Manager and the Product Owner or Business Analyst.
  • Responsible for resolving testing issues and defects throughout the entire project cycle.
  • Manage the Quality assurance pipeline and project the required resources according to the consolidated project plans. Mange the resource capacity and coordinate to augment with contractors as required.
  • Regularly report needs and progress including staff performance in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or
  • University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience

Experience

  • More than two (2) years of testing experience as a Test Lead/Manager;
  • A strong understanding of project and quality disciplines;
  • Experience of good testing practice;
  • Experience with SDL;
  • Strong technical knowledge;
  • Automation testing experience and SOA testing experience are desirable.
