The Nursing Care Director (NCD) is overall responsible for the quality and functioning of nursing care for all patients in the project, including those residing within the hospital, in Kahramana hotel, and in private accommodation (a limited number of patients live in Amman). The Nursing Care Director participates actively in defining and implementing nursing care strategy and is responsible to ensure the best quality of nursing care for patients, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and MSF guidelines. The Nursing Care Director (NCD) participates in the “Directors Committee”, chaired by the Deputy Head of Mission/Hospital Director. This committee includes the Clinical Director, the Deputy Clinical Director, the Deputy Admissions Director, the Logistics Director, the Finance Director, the HR Director, and the Quality Project Referent. As such, s/he is involved in decision-making processes and collaborates closely with all managerial positions. The Nursing Care Director (NCD) supervises and supports the Nursing Activities Manager (NAM) in heading the hospital team of nurse supervisors working in the surgical wards, Rehabilitation Centre (RC), Outpatient Department (OPD), and Operating Theatre (OT). The Nursing Care Director (NCD) is also the direct supervisor of the health educators. S/he has an overview of all hospital activities, especially nursing care and its various intersections with other departments, and ensures continuity in every aspect of hospital and patient management.

- May be called upon to be involved in patient activities in collaboration with the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Department.

Qualification Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required. An advanced degree in nursing or management is a plus.
Experience: MSF Minimum two (2) MSF missions and in management positions.
Outside MSF At least 3 years experience as a nursing director of a medium-sized hospital, or as a nursing supervisor of a unit including a minimum of 60 beds.
