Job Description Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for managing the successful delivery of Rocket solutions to customers and is a key influencer in providing Rocket’s Category of One customer experience. They are responsible for coordinating multiple programs and working on high-value and high-profile customer facing projects. This position requires a well-rounded individual who won’t miss details while guiding multiple teams. The Program Manager will work closely with cross-functional leaders to define and deliver critical initiatives to support customer or internal Rocket objectives. The work will be complex and vary in both strategic focus and tactical execution.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage strategic, highly complex business consulting engagements involving Rocket, partner, customer, and 3rd party stakeholders
  • Lead a team of Senior Project Managers, providing portfolio oversight and first point of contact for direction and escalation
  • Working with the partner and customer Project Manager to ensure understanding and alignment of all project activities, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Accountable as central point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establishment of an effective project governance structure
  • Develop and maintain project plans and schedules, identifying key milestones, resource requirements, pre-requisites, and dependencies as well as risk visibility and mitigation.
  • Ensure project charter, goals and objectives are defined and met. This includes helping to define and documenting timelines, budget, and resource requirements to deliver quality outcome.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for creation of cross-functional interlock and supportive procedures to deliver on-time projects.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Communicate clearly at various levels of the organization both with written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Must be team oriented with ability to facilitate effective meetings, handle conflict resolution, and create approachable environment.
  • Work with multiple teams to transition project solution knowledge and ownership.
  • Keep projects on track by
    • Managing: Project schedules, deliverables, scope, resource forecasts, risks, communication
    • Planning: Securing resources according to agree project schedule
    • Measuring: Checking project progress toward meeting its objectives
    • Evaluating: Determining the cause of deviations from the plan
    • Determining and taking corrective actions
  • Manage communication and alignment of customer and stakeholder responsibilities and expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years’ Senior level Project Management experience with a technology vendor or systems integrator, working with external clients and partners
  • Experience managing large complex enterprise multi-stream software implementation projects
  • Excellent communication skills across various functional teams and executive management, including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical contributors
  • Ability to conduct / facilitate effective meetings, holding people accountable for follow up actions.
  • Excellent listening, judgement, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong drive to deliver exceptional outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prince 2 or PMI certification required
  • Additional program, portfolio management and software development methodology certification

Education

Bachelors’ degree or equivalent professional experience
