Social Media Officer

This is a crucial role within the marketing and communications team. You will be responsible in the creation, management, optimization and dissemination of multimedia content via social media channels and other digital channels owned and operated by Amnesty International


In your role as Social Media Officer, you will have previous experience in creating compelling content on digital platforms, such as Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and Instagram. You will have a passion for human rights and be able to analyse data to ensure the optimisation of all channels.


  • To support the Global Social Media Manager in creating, curating, optimising and scheduling content on Amnesty owned and operated digital properties (such as Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram);
  • To work with Global Social Media Manager to uphold and share channel strategies;
  • To support the Data & Insights analyst and ensure defined channel KPIs are upheld and understood by all teams and report back to internal stakeholders on performance
  • To coordinate content planning with global teams


  • At least two years of experience working in social media, ideally for a large nongovernmental organization or charity;
  • Excellent editorial and/or writing skills;
  • Experience in creating content that engages and grows international audiences on digital channels tailored to the audience ideally with a focus on mobilization, fundraising and/ or supporter engagement;
  • Experience and use of online community-building techniques.
