Position: Cash Controller

Reports to: Finance Manager

Duty station: Amman

AVSI Foundation, an NGO created in 1972, carries out cooperation projects for development, with particular emphasis on education. In its work, its attention is focused on the defense and promotion of the dignity of the person, the cornerstone of every project. We work all around the world thanks to a network of 35 founding members and more than 700 partners worldwide.

AVSI Foundation has been operating in Jordan since 2006 and contributed in supporting the most vulnerable local communities, Palestinian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees through providing projects and activities that focus on health and psycho-social assistance, education, vocational training and job placement and income-generating activities.

About the position:

Under general supervision, the Cash Controller is responsible for the verification and execution of all payments in accordance to AVSI’s policies and procedures.

Role and responsibilities:

· The cash controller will be responsible for the execution of daily payments in AVSI.

· Ensure that all financial obligations are met in accordance with the policies and procedures.

· Ensure that all documents related to the payments are accurately supported and approved.

· Cash Count and reconciliation on a daily basis, in addition to daily check count.

· Coordination and communication with all the banks.

· Perform daily bank situation and justify discrepancies between bank and Organization books.

· Forecasts, monitors and tracks cash flow and project situation, weekly monthly and quarterly.

· Prepares and Submits Cash reports on a weekly basis.

· Presenting, after the execution of payment, the receipt and all relevant documents to accounting for booking.

· Willing and able to perform all other job duties and assignments as assigned by management.

· Participates and assists in the yearly and projects reporting and audit visits to ensure proper closure.

· Maintaining proper filing system for all financial documents both soft and hard copies as per internal procedures.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in training and educational opportunities; reading professional publications and donor guidelines.

· Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Competencies:

· A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a relevant field.

· A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in NGO/INGO.

· Fluency in Arabic and English.

· Strong Interpersonal, oral and written Communication skills

· Familiarity with accounting and financial management practices in humanitarian sector

· Computer literacy and good knowledge in ERP Systems – Microsoft Dynamics Navision experience is a plus

· Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs
